California resident Derrick Callella pleaded guilty on July 2 to harassment using telecommunication devices after sending fake ransom demands regarding the missing Nancy Guthrie.

The forty-two-year-old admitted he called and texted the family on February 4, seeking investigation details while knowing prior demands were completely fraudulent.

Federal officials confirmed this week that all three ransom communications linked to the disappearance of the eighty-four-year-old woman are entirely fake.
