Operations at Charlotte Douglas International Airport suffered major disruptions on August 16, 2025. A Frontier Airlines Airbus A320neo encountered a severe ground equipment malfunction prior to departure. Fortunately, no passengers or crew members sustained any injuries during the startling incident.

The aircraft was scheduled to operate Flight F93134 bound for New York–LaGuardia. During pre-departure preparations, a ground air-conditioning hose was inadvertently drawn into the plane’s left engine. The powerful suction caused the hose to disintegrate instantly, forcing ground crews to halt all operations.

The specific aircraft had successfully completed an earlier flight from Philadelphia that same morning. Passengers traveling to New York eventually departed nearly nine hours later using a replacement aircraft. The original jet remained grounded for extensive safety inspections and necessary engine repairs.
