WASHINGTON — A dramatic social-media claim alleging that former President Joe Biden, former first lady Jill Biden and one of their grandchildren were killed in a plane crash near the Canadian border is circulating online, but no credible evidence has emerged confirming the reported deaths.
The post is designed to resemble a breaking-news alert and invokes the name of Fox News while using urgent language suggesting that the alleged crash happened only “a few minutes ago.” Similar versions of the claim have appeared across multiple websites and social-media channels in September.
However, searches of current reporting have not identified a corresponding Fox News report, government announcement, aviation-authority statement or major news organization confirming that Biden, Jill Biden or a Biden grandchild died in an aircraft accident.
