Massachusetts mother Janette MacAusland was arrested and charged with murdering her two young children inside their home. Authorities discovered the victims after the suspect confessed to a Vermont police officer. Prosecutors stated that MacAusland drove 140 miles to her aunt's residence in Vermont following the tragic incident. She allegedly confessed to strangling her seven-year-old son and six-year-old daughter. The suspect reportedly expressed a desire for them all to die together during the conversation with law enforcement. Investigators are currently examining the family's ongoing divorce and custody dispute as a potential background factor. The accused remains entitled to the presumption of innocence while legal proceedings continue.
