The U.S. Navy officially ended a grueling 102-hour rescue search in the Arabian Sea after an MH-60S Sea Hawk helicopter crashed into open waters last Wednesday.

Rescue teams aggressively scoured over fourteen thousand square miles of water. Despite massive efforts, the missing service member was never found by military search crews.

Four other crew members aboard the aircraft carrier-based helicopter were successfully rescued and survived the tragic pre-dawn aviation emergency landing incident.
